FAQ & important information
How does this brace help with foot drop?
How does this brace help with foot drop?
The brace is designed to give the front of your foot a gentle upward assist while you walk. By helping the toes clear the ground more easily, it can support a more controlled heel-to-toe step. The brace supports your walking motion; it does not treat the underlying cause of foot drop.
What type of shoes can I wear this with?
What type of shoes can I wear this with?
Closed shoes with enough room around the foot generally work best, including trainers, walking shoes and other secure everyday shoes. If a shoe feels tight, removing a removable insole can sometimes create extra room. Very tight or open shoes may not provide enough space or support for a secure fit.
Is it difficult to put on?
Is it difficult to put on?
The first few times may take a little practice. Once the straps are adjusted to your foot and shoe, putting it on becomes a simple routine. We recommend fitting the brace while seated and checking that it feels secure without creating uncomfortable pressure points.
Can I wear it all day?
Can I wear it all day?
You can build up wear time once the fit feels comfortable. Especially during the first few days, start gradually and check your skin and comfort regularly. Remove the brace if you notice persistent rubbing, numbness, pain or skin irritation. Comfort depends on the fit, your footwear and your individual situation.
Will this work for severe foot drop?
Will this work for severe foot drop?
It depends on how much support you need. Foot Drop Walking Support is designed as practical walking assistance, but severe foot drop, significant ankle instability or marked muscle weakness may require a more rigid or custom ankle-foot orthosis (AFO). If you are unsure which level of support is right for you, speak with a physiotherapist, orthotist or doctor.
Does it come in different sizes?
